Takashi was one of the first
to join when Osaka's first official shoot gym, Shooting Gym Osaka,
opened.
When he started, he showed very little knowledge of ground techniques.
His specialty was striking.
He was fresh out of Seido Kaikan, The organization responsible
for the famous K-1 kick boxing matches.
When Jutaro Nakao, moved from Yokohama to be an instructor at Shooting
Gym Osaka, there were few people in the Osaka area good or strong
enough to be a practice partner for Jutaro. |

The job went to Takashi
Nakakura.
I think when it all stated, we at the gym would watch Jutaro work
over Takashi and think, "I'm glad that aint me!".
Jutaro was getting ready for his first Osaka match so the training
was harsh.
After a month of such training, I asked Takashi about his sparring
matching with Jutaro. He said, "it hurts like hell but now
I'm not afraid of anyone!" . Understandably so, Jutaro was
one of highest ranked Middle weight shoot fighters and |

had just got back from
his victory over one of the most technical fighters of all time,
Pat
Miletich .
As word got out, what few pro fighters that were in the Osaka, started
coming by the Osaka gym to work out.
Takashi was as he said, fearless!
Not only did he train with the pros, he also gained their respect.

Takashi became the first member of the
gym to do well in the armature fights and we all knew he was going
somewhere.
He is currently 4 and 0 in Professional Shooto.
